Academic Counseling

Student Academic Support Services staff and Graduate Counseling Interns are available to work with students who wish to improve their scholastic performance and become more active learners.

Through weekly one-on-one appointments, academic counseling assists students with the development of skills related to time management and personal study habits. In addition, academic counselors help students identify, explore, and discuss personal issues that pose a barrier to academic success. Students are able to learn more about making good decisions, exploring and setting life goals, and increasing motivation level in college and beyond.

Academic counselors work closely with students regarding an overall assessment of academic progress, and counseling sessions are tailored to meet each individual student’s needs and goals. Meeting with an academic counselor on a regular basis is effective in monitoring academic progress and encourages students to develop a more meaningful approach to their individual academic pursuits.

Personalized, confidential, one-on-one academic counseling is available at no cost to all students.
